Oregon Covered Bridges - Pass Creek Bridge, Douglas County
<< Douglas County Bridges All Covered Bridges >>

There is some debate whether Pass Creek bridge was constructed in 1925 (the official date) or in 1906 as attested by the Umpqua Historic Preservation Society.

What is certain is that the original bridge was constructed in the 1870's along the Overland Stage Route. Drain was then an important junction which linked the Willamette Valley and Jacksonville.
Today a concrete bridge now crosses Pass Creek where the old wooden structure once rested.

In 1987, the trusses were lifted by crane and moved one block away from the original site. The structure was reassembled the following year.
The wooden bridge had been closed to traffic since 1981.

DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 99 from Drain, turning southwards onto 2nd Street. To West A Street after one block.
Pass Creek bridge is located in the city of Drain behind Drain Civic Center at 205 W. A Street.
