Oregon Covered Bridges - Johnson Creek (Cedar Crossing), Multnomah County
<< Multnomah County Bridges All Covered Bridges >>

Not a true covered bridge as no truss is used for support.
Don Clark, of Multnomah County, lobbied succesfully for the county to build a covered span. The span was dedicated in January 1982.

The location for the bridge was found when it was decided to replace the deteriorating wooden truss bridge that crossed Johnson Creek in SE Portland. The cost of the bridge eventually totaled $93,450, with road and abutment work adding another $74,800.
The bridge interior features knotty pine. A five-foot walkway separates the pedestrian and bicycle traffic from the 24-foot roadway.
Five large windows on each side provide light and ventilation.

DIRECTIONS:
Exit I-205 at Foster Road east.
Turn south on SE 134 to Deardorf Road and travel for one half mile.
Cedar Crossing bridge is on Deardorf Road over Johnson Creek.
