In 2006, Benton-Lane Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris had the incredible honor of being selected as the top 100 wines of
the world by the Wine Spectator and Wine & Spirits magazine.
The vineyard is located at "Sunnymount", an old sheep ranch in the southern Willamette Valley, near the village of Monroe.
With deep, well drained, Bellpine and Jory clay-loam soils on the west side of the valley, Benton-Lane has the perfect orientation
and conditions for the cultivation of the Pinot Noir grape.
The vineyard has grown to 134 acres since the first plantings in 1989. mainly planted with Pinot Noir there are 7 distinct clones on a
wide variety of rootstocks carefully matched to the planting location.
Benton-Lane’s Winery was constructed in 1997 offering a efficient and functional environment for winemaking that was
aesthetically fitting to the agricultural character of the local area.
