Howard Prairie Lake
22 miles east of Ashland. Howard Prairie Lake was created in 1958 when the Bureau of Reclamation constructed
the dam at the south end of the lake. Complete outdoor resort with camping areas. Howard Prairie Resort features
over 300 campsites for all sizes of tents, trailers and motor homes. The full service marina hosts over 40 rental
boats and 300 moorages. There is also a Day-use area, a store and restaurant and a laundry room.
For fishing enthusiasts Howard Prairie Lake is generally considered to be among the finest rainbow trout
fisheries in the Northwest.
Emmigrant Lake
Located just a few minutes south of Ashland off of Highway 66. It offers boating, fishing,
and a large water slide and bathing area. There are large covered group areas and ample grassy areas for
picnics and barbecues. There is also a small and nicely situated camp site with showers.
